New Happenings for 2010

Join us at Capers Brasserie & Wine Bar in beautiful downtown Belleville for regional menus paired with some awesome wines from Capers Award-Winning Cellar! Wine Spectator awarded us 'Best of Award of Excellence' in 2009, upgrading us from the Award of Excellence we have held since 2007! Come and visit us and find out why leading wine writer David Lawrason sees Capers as having "the best wine list between Toronto and Montreal!" Executive Chef Jeffrey Camacho presents seasonal and locally inpired menus, and our friendly and knowledgable staff can always suggest wines from our collection to accompany your meal. Interesting flights are available and are budget-friendly. At dinner time, we offer a "Blind Tasting" dining experience where we present a multi-course tasting style menu 'a la moment' - with wine pairings optional. Expect to be wowed with the elegant but informal setting, and a wide range of local wine selections poured by the glass.

BOOK YOUR EVENT NOW!!

Wine Events are Affordable and FUN!

Here are some ways that we can help you with your next event:

Corporate Clients: Consider replacing your events' wine element with a 'wine tasting' - complete with sommelier and an assortment of wines

For what you would pay to have wine at your event, make it special and memorable by hiring us! Instead of the usual and often unexciting 'one white, one red' philosophy, we can offer a selection of wines, including sparkling or Champagne, and be on hand to talk about the wines at the event. Your guests, whether they be clients or colleagues, will never forget the experience!

Private wine tasting dinners at your home or office:

Let me design a food and wine experience for you and your guests to enjoy, liasing with your chef, or with one of our preferred caterers. Consider this for your cocktail parties, engagement or birthday dinners, meetings, or any other festive or important occasion.

Here are just some of the benefits you will enjoy:

• your own personal wine consultant to serve and speak about the wines • wines that are not available through any retail outlet • menu and wine selections that suit your palate as well as your budget • delicious canapes and other menu items matched beautifully with selected wines • the confidence in knowing that this is one less thing to worry about in making your event a success!

Bonvin a Vendre Wine Buyers Club

Wednesday May 10, 2006

easily the most successful club event by far! I know it's difficult to commit to anything in the wake of our gorgeous summer weather, but think about what you would have missed! The Liberty Bistro provided the yummiest bites, hot off the grill - Elk, Venison, Asian Chicken, Halibut, peach-stuffed mushrooms - mm, mmm! To complete the experience, we enjoyed juicy wines like the Hess Collection's Artezin Zinfandel (now sold out) and an Aussie Pinot Noir from Six Foot Six (now backordered). Also in the offing was Primo Estates Sangiovese/Shiraz from Australia: you'd almost think it was Italian! Jeanneret Riesling from Australia, Esser Merlot from California, Langmeil Barossa Valley Shiraz, and Cusumano 'Angimbe' Chardonnay-Insolia from Sicily. If you missed it this time, it's okay. We'll be meeting again, but likely not until the fall. In the meantime, look for our new 'members only' area for opportunities to purchase wines anytime you like! "Viva Italia" at the Waring House, Picton

Enjoy a rustic country Italian feast, four courses plus amuse, six select Italian 'country' wines, including a delicious sparkling dessert treat, a Brachetto d'Acqui from the Langhe! Chef Louis de Souza is creating an authentic Italian family feast to warm your hearts and your souls.

$65 sets you up. Tickets available at the Waring House.

The evening was a rousing success! The food was fantastic, chef Louis outdid himself in the authentic department ... but the highlight of the night had to be dessert for me ... pastry chef Marianne Fricker put together a meringue torte, layered with fresh raspberries and creme fraiche with toasted hazelnuts - unbelieveable! and the seamless match with the La Rosa single vineyard Brachetto D'Acqui took the dish to unparalelled heights! Brava! The crowd was enthusiastic to say the least, principles Chris and Nora Rogers were on hand to join in. We had, in typical Italian Family Style, all our parties were seated at larger tables with folks from other parties. One of our guests, the lovely Tatiana, even sang us a rendition of Rigaletto! Not to say the wine stook a back seat either ... Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Primitivo, a lovely Tuscan Rose from Carpineto, an Aglianico from Apulia and of course the aforementioned Brachetto. What could be better? I really don't know.
